Understanding your makeup’s make-up.
Most of us have read, or at least glanced, at the list of ingredients on the back of the cosmetic products we use.
If you were able to read the small script or pronounce half of what you read, kudos to you.
The most important thing to be aware of is that the list is in an ‘Order of Quantity’.
Additionally, water is added as an inexpensive diluting component and is used to increase the volume of the product. These days, a lot of cosmetic manufacturers are adding ‘natural’ products to their formulas to entice customers to purchase them.
Scientifically, oil and water do not mix. To achieve this mixture, manufacturers use emulsifiers, alcohols, and acids that need to be added to make their formulations bind.
ECOgolik.com evaluates only ingredients and not the cosmetic product itself. Ingredient evaluations are based on 2 factors: safety for people and the environment. It means that an ingredient that is known as safe for use in cosmetics can get a bad mark because it pollutes nature. Read Absolut Earth’s evaluation of our ingredients page. Environmental Concerns and Community Support

With the huge number of cosmetics manufacturers out there, each with their range, producing millions of products and almost all exclusively packaged in plastic, Absolut Earth has taken a different approach. We provide you with one all-natural cream that feeds your skin to help it heal itself. Our formulation is effective in various applications and industries, such as health, beauty, sports, massaging, physiotherapy, new tattoos, tattoo removal, permanent makeup, and general skin health.
We do not produce in mass quantities for large retail stores and choose to give the power back to the “little guy” and supply only franchises, small businesses, sole proprietors, and individuals. Our products is not marketed in any manner that produces waste and therefore we let Absolut Earth speak for itself, via word of mouth and social media. Local is always Lekker!!
Most of our raw ingredients are produced locally in South Africa which lowers environmental impact and pollution. The rest of the ingredients are sourced from reputable wholesalers that take the environment to heart. All our ingredients are natural and therefore, will not pollute the environment. Currently our packaging contains only about 20% plastic, the remainder is glass, aluminum, and cloth, all of which can be recycled. We hope to lower that percentage in the future.
Supporting the environment and the community is at our core. We are striving to minimise waste, from production to post sales. We urge our customers to do the same. Our raw materials are shipped in boxes and often, plastic buckets. Our initiative is to recycle the items that still can be reused to local charities, schools and families in need. Even the glass jar can be washed and used for all sorts of things (we have heard from some customers that they use them for tea lights, jewellery storage and even shot glasses, Cheers!)
